Jones needed Stitches

Manager Ian Baraclough has revealed defender Rob Jones needed stitches on his face in half-time of Saturday’s home loss to Coventry City.
The former Hibernian man and Cliff Byrne are the club’s only fit centre-backs at present because of injuries to Michael Raynes (thigh), David Mirfin (foot) and Niall Canavan (knee).
However, Jones’ character to keep on giving 100 per cent in spite of the injury delighted the manager.
“Rob Jones had to have stitches on his split eye at half-time,” said Baraclough, “The fact he continued to head balls in the second half though just shows you the character he is. He wasn’t even worried about the injury.
“He initially picked it up in the game at Derby last week, but Rob will keep putting his head where it needs to be.
“I felt he did very well on Saturday.”
